Why Wyoming Homeowners Choose Fence Brothers
Fence Brothers has installed and repaired residential and commercial fencing across West Michigan since 2013. Alec and Kyle Trierweiler lead every project themselves — you won’t be handed off to a call center or a rotating sales team. Before any post goes in the ground, we pull the required city approval, schedule the MISS DIG utility locate, and confirm your property lines, so none of that paperwork lands on you. Every fence we build is backed by a 5-year workmanship warranty, wood included.

WHAT WE INSTALL
Fence Installation Services in Wyoming, MI

Wood Fence Installation
Cedar and pine, built on-site piece by piece with true 2×4 rails and 11/16-inch pickets — never pre-assembled panels. Pine is the more budget-friendly option and holds up just as well as cedar over time; cedar is there if the look matters more to you or your subdivision calls for it by name.
Best for: backyard privacy and custom driveway gates on Wyoming’s established residential lots.
Vinyl Fencing
Low-maintenance and built to hold its color and shape through West Michigan winters. Fence Brothers is a preferred Vecca installer, which means factory-grade material and a clean, consistent install.
Best for: homeowners who want long-term privacy without the upkeep a wood fence asks for.

Aluminum Fencing
Rust-resistant, clean-lined, and well-suited to pool enclosures and open perimeters where you want a defined boundary without blocking the view.
Best for: decorative fencing and pool code compliance on properties that want an upscale, open look.
Chain Link Fencing
Galvanized, vinyl-coated, slatted, or security-grade, available in residential and commercial weights.
Best for: dog runs, larger lots, and budget-conscious perimeter fencing.

Ranch and Agricultural Fence
Flat rail, vinyl and wood ranch rail, split diamond rail, and cross buck styles for rural and semi-rural properties.
Best for: larger parcels that need a boundary line rather than a privacy screen.
Gate Operators
Residential driveway gates and commercial access gates, installed and wired by the same crew that builds the fence — one of the few West Michigan companies that handles this in-house rather than subcontracting it out.

Commercial Fencing
Chain link, aluminum, and wood fencing for property managers, schools, and municipal properties, plus temporary fence rental and bollard installation.
Best for: businesses and organizations that need coordinated fencing across a commercial site.

Wyoming’s Fence Ordinance — What You Need to Know

Wyoming is a fully incorporated city with its own building department, which means its fence rules are written down in one place rather than split across two townships the way some nearby communities are. Under Sec. 90-312 of the City of Wyoming Code of Ordinances, any fence built, altered, or replaced needs sign-off from the city’s building inspector before installation starts. The finished side has to face out, toward your neighbor’s yard or the street. Height is capped at 6 feet in a required side or rear yard, and 36 inches in a front yard — or the first 10 feet of a secondary front yard if you’re on a corner lot. Corner lots carry one more rule worth knowing: inside the sight triangle at the intersection, fencing is capped at 36 inches so drivers can see cross traffic. Fencing also has to be ornamental — no spikes, no sharp toppers, nothing beyond what the code allows.
None of this is something you need to track down yourself. Fence Brothers confirms what applies to your specific lot and handles the inspector sign-off as part of every Wyoming project.
Michigan’s frost line runs 42 inches deep, and every post we set goes below that regardless of which part of Wyoming you’re in. Kent County’s soil is generally well-drained loam, but individual lots vary — we check ground conditions at your property before we finalize post depth rather than assuming one answer fits every yard.
